Long Exposure Photos

Here are some photos that my friends and I took:

This was me holding a book and putting one foot on my chair while my friend run as fast.

This is called panning. It's when you photograph or televise while rotating a camera on its vertical or horizontal axis in order to keep a moving person or object in view or allow the film to record a panorama.

Shutter Speed: 1/22.

ISO: 250

Aperture: f/13

My friends told me to run while I was thinking.

This is still panning.

Next thing we did was light painting. Monica had to paint Max as Pikachu.

Light Painting is when exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure.

This photo is called blurred water.

Monica took it from the water fountain.

When it comes to photographing moving subjects, you’d naturally assume freezing the action would give the best result. That’s certainly the case for some subjects, but others can end up looking static and lifeless. Waterfalls and rivers are classic examples which can take on a far more dramatic appearance when the water itself is blurred.

Shutter Speed: 1/30

ISO: 50

Aperture: f/15

Finally, we did no arms.

Monica is looking down while flapping his hands.

ISO: 200

Aperture: f/13
